Job Description:

 

The Student Achievement Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating programs and initiatives to close the achievement gap for underrepresented students. This role focuses on working directly with students, division staff, school staff,  parents and families to implement effective strategies and support systems that promote academic and behavioral success for underrepresented student populations.  

The Student Achievement Coordinator provides expert consultancy in these areas for senior leadership, departments, schools, and external partners on behalf of the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership and Student Services and Equity.  This role also supports the division and schools in being transformative agents in the lives of students and empowers students, teachers, support staff, families, and community members to create welcoming learning environments that spark academic growth, student interest, and passion.

 

This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Instructional Support

 

Qualifications:  

 

Education: Master’s degree in related field such as education, counseling, social work, psychology, academic achievement, or urban education.

 

Certificates & Licenses: A valid Virginia Department of Education license is required, or eligibility to obtain one.
